NEW Coaching Updates

Dear Members,

We’re pleased to introduce three new initiatives at Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club, designed to provide members with more opportunities to practise, learn and improve their tennis outside of regular coaching sessions.

BLTC Hitting Partner Programme

Our new Hitting Partner Programme gives members the opportunity to arrange additional practice sessions with approved, high-level hitting partners.

Whether you’re looking for rally practice, drills, matchplay or simply more time hitting balls, this is a great way to develop your game in a relaxed and flexible environment. How to book:

* Contact one of the hitting partners directly using the details provided on the programme poster.
* Arrange your session and agree the cost directly with your chosen hitting partner.
* Hitting partner sessions are only permitted during the designated times shown on the poster and must follow club court booking rules.

Please note that hitting partners are there to provide quality practice and light guidance, rather than replace formal coaching sessions.

Coach’s Eye Personal Video Analysis

Ever wondered what your tennis actually looks like?

Coach’s Eye is our new video analysis service, allowing members to receive personalised technical and tactical feedback. Video becoming a stronger part of every day play with some of you videoing shots, or matchplay you are now able to send this across where we can review the footage. We can identify areas for improvement, highlight strengths and provide clear, practical advice to help you develop your game.

Pricing:

* £15 – Shot Analysis: Review of one stroke or specific technique, with brief written feedback and key improvement points
* (£££ Depends on Video Length) - Match/ point Analysis: A broader review of your game, covering technical and tactical observations, strengths, development priorities and a personalised improvement plan.

How to book: Simply contact James or the coaching team to arrange your analysis. Depending on the package, you can submit suitable existing footage or arrange for footage to be captured during a session.

Video Clinics Coming Soon!

We’re also developing a series of Video Clinics, designed to help members better understand different technical and tactical aspects of tennis.

Each clinic will be live and focus on a particular theme, using video demonstrations, analysis and coaching insights to explain what players should be looking for and how they can apply these ideas to their own game. Topics will range from stroke mechanics and movement patterns to doubles tactics, shot selection and matchplay strategies.

More information on our first Video Clinics will follow shortly!

These three initiatives form part of our continued commitment to developing the playing and coaching experience at BLTC, giving members more ways to practise, understand and enjoy their tennis.

Best wishes,

James Charman
Head Coach
